Waste and recycling in Experian
Experian produces general office waste from its sites, mainly in the form of paper. In 2005/6, Experian in the UK produced 526 tonnes of solid waste (down from 973 tonnes in 2004/5). This significant reduction is due to the closure of Experian's print and mail operations in the UK, although underlying initiatives to reduce office waste have also continued throughout the business.
Experian in the US produced 1,377 tonnes of waste (894 tonnes in 2004/5).
Waste volumes at Experian UK:
Experian in the UK has continued its very successful promotion of recycling at its Nottingham sites: in 2005/6, 27% of the total waste produced was recycled. The recycled fraction has dropped from previous years (when 50% was recycled) because of the closure of Experian's print and mail operations. These facilities tended to produce significant volumes of waste, a high proportion of which was recycled.
